Uri Blackman serves as CEO of GIDEON Informatics, the medical decision support company he founded in 1992. GIDEON’s web-based application and ebook series are deployed at hundreds of institutions, including the World Health Organization, the CDC and prominent universities and government organizations worldwide.
Most recently, Uri was Senior Vice President of Applications at UberMedia, where he led the growth of the social mobile apps group and tripled annual revenue to $10 million.
After founding Oloop, a venture backed online insurance brokerage firm, Uri became Vice President of Corporate Development at Speedbit. He managed a successful M&A process while developing and managing strategic and revenue relationships for Download Accelerator, a software app whose user base grew from 13 to over 90 million.
Uri was a Product Manager for two generations of the Netscape browser, then managed the computing and download channels on Netscape’s website and later business development at AOL
Uri is the Chairman of the Technology Council of Southern California and serves on the advisory board of a number of technology companies around the world.
Uri was a commander in the Israeli Defense Forces Technology Corp. He received his BA in Computer Science and Philosophy from Tel Aviv University and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
